The Thunder Beast FLY 9 is what a 9mm can should’ve been all along—quiet, compact, and actually lightweight. Run it Long (7.0″) for full-performance suppression at 7.9 oz, or Short (4.4″) for a truly handy setup at 5.5 oz—both weights include the booster and piston. Full-auto rated for 9mm, and rated for .300 BLK (subs/supers) and .350 Legend with minimum barrel lengths.

Description
The FLY 9 was built with the same philosophy as TBAC’s ULTRA line: deliver top-tier performance with as little size and weight as possible. That matters on 9mm pistol suppressors, where most options are either “quiet but bulky” or “small but loud.” The FLY 9 closes that gap with a two-length modular design that stays short even in its long configuration.
Long configuration is the workhorse setup. At 7.0″ overall (including piston), it’s the same length—or shorter—than many competitors’ “short” modes, but TBAC’s data shows it runs with the best suppressors in class on both standard 147gr subsonic and low-blast 165gr ammo. The difference is weight: 7.9 oz in Long, including booster, piston, and spring.
Short configuration is where it gets interesting. At 4.4″ (including piston) and 5.5 oz, it’s genuinely micro-sized and still posts competitive numbers—especially with low-blast subsonic loads like HUSH or STELTH, where TBAC reports muzzle and ear measurements under 140 dB from the short setup. In real use, that means you can keep the pistol compact and still get meaningful suppression instead of the usual “short can compromise.”
Durability isn’t an afterthought. The FLY 9 uses a 100% titanium, tubeless body and a 360° fully-welded baffle core, and it’s hard-use / full-auto rated for 9mm. TBAC’s test regimen (select-fire subgun, repeated high-round-count cycles) is aimed at validating it for PCC/subgun loadouts, not just slow pistol strings.
It ships ready to run on common handgun threads with a 1/2-28 piston, plus a fixed barrel spacer (spring replacement) for PCCs and fixed-barrel hosts. The booster uses high-temp 17-7 wave springs and is compatible with Rugged/Griffin/SilencerCo/TBAC standard pistons.
Note: Some modern SIG pistols may require a muzzle-indexed piston.
The FLY 9 is also rated beyond 9mm:
- .300 Blackout subsonic: 5.5″ minimum
- .300 Blackout supersonic: 8.0″ minimum
- .350 Legend: 16″ minimum
