Description
The KGM R556 is a hard-use 5.56 suppressor designed to deliver consistent performance under high round counts while keeping the host rifle stable and predictable. The core design focus is gas management—routing flow to reduce disruption at the muzzle and minimizing the ways a suppressor can induce point-of-impact shift or push a rifle into an over-gassed, dirty cycle.
KGM’s feature set centers on five practical outcomes:
- Accuracy / repeatability: A patented gas flow path is engineered to maintain stability through the can, helping reduce POI shift and preserve precision.
- Flash mitigation: A stoichiometric design is intended to keep flash contained within the suppressor across visible and other spectrums.
- Recoil reduction: The APEC™ Adjustable Port End Cap is designed to shear high-pressure gas energy and allow the shooter to tune recoil characteristics.
- Gas optimization: IGF™ Integrated Gas Flow is built to reduce over-gassing and decrease toxic gas to the shooter.
- Sound suppression: Reduces sound/pressure and also modifies tonal characteristics to reduce downrange signature.
Construction is listed as 316 stainless steel for both the baffle stack and tube, built for long service life under hard use. The R556 uses a 1/2-28 five-port muzzle device taper mount, paired with KGM’s proprietary secondary ratchet retention system, and includes one compatible muzzle device in the box.
