Alaskan

Description

The Alaskan is our answer for dangerous and heavy game anywhere big claws, big horns, and bad weather live. Built around a Defiance controlled-round-feed action to SMR specs with a three-position safety, it’s made to feed and extract smoothly every time—no drama, no excuses when things get Western up close.

We pair that action with a Benchmark #6 fluted barrel or SMR Carbon Fiber Precision Rifle Barrel and an AG Composites CAT stock to SMR specs, giving you a rifle that soaks up recoil, tracks straight, and still points naturally from field positions, shooting sticks, or offhand. At roughly 7lbs 9oz bare rifle, it carries with enough weight to settle down behind the shot without feeling like a boat anchor over miles of brush, tundra, or river bottom.

Chambered in serious big-game cartridges and backed by a sub 1/2 MOA guarantee, the Alaskan gives you reach across valleys and the authority to end it quickly when the bull, bear, or buffalo finally steps out. When failure isn’t an option, this is the rifle we’d take.

SMR Load-Development Process

Every Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. custom rifle goes through intensive load development. We spend days on your actual rifle testing different loads, seating depths, and components to find what it truly wants to shoot—then we hand you that exact recipe for your chamber, barrel, twist, and setup.

You can run it yourself on the loading bench, or let us do the heavy lifting and order rifle-matched ammo built to that proven spec.
