Custom Rifles

Build Your Custom long-range Rifle

Custom rifles, hand-built in Hamilton, Montana by gunsmiths who hunt what they build.

Every rifle we build starts with a purpose, not a part list. Your terrain, game, and shooting style drive the decisions so the rifle in your hands feels like it was built for your hunt—because it was.

Start by choosing a base model that fits how and where you hunt, then use our builder to dial in cartridge, barrel, muzzle brake, finish, optics, and accessories. When your configuration is set, submit it to request a consultation. An SMR rifle expert will review your build, follow up with you, and fine-tune the details so the rifle we deliver matches your mission, not a template.

Select the model that feels closest and choose your specs. Not sure where to start? Just schedule a consultation or give us a call (406) 546-8732 and we’ll help you out.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Alpine Hunter

Alpine Hunter

The Alpine Hunter is built for hunters who live in the steep, ugly country where most people turn around. It balances carbon, titanium, and a Manners stock into a rifle you can trust when the only rest is a rock, a pack, or your knees.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Full Curl

Full Curl

The Full Curl is the custom rifle we build for the hunts that punish weight and expose weak gear. It’s an ultra-lightweight hunting rifle made for sheep country, goat country, and any backcountry hunt where the climb is steep, the air is thin, and you may only get one clean chance. Light in the hands, steady on target, and built around our F-16A lightweight titanium action, the Full Curl carries like a true mountain rifle and shoots with the confidence serious hunters expect from a Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. rifle. PLEASE NOTE: This is intended as our ultra-lightweight mountain rifle—we do not recommend any calibers over 7 PRC. For larger calibers, we’d recommend checking out our Alpine Hunter or Long-Range Hunter models.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Long-Range Hunter

Long-Range Hunter

Built for real Western hunting, not range-day bragging rights. The Long-Range Hunter carries light enough for steep miles, settles in solid behind the rifle, and gives you the confidence to break clean shots when the wind finally lets you send it.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Long Range Hunter Pro

Long-Range Hunter Pro

Versatile, accurate, and built for real hunts. The Long-Range Hunter Pro bridges mountain-ready weight with competition-grade precision. Its carbon fiber stock, aluminum bedding block, and adjustable cheekpiece deliver the perfect balance of stability and packability—confidence for any distance, in any terrain.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Long-Range Hunter 4.0

Long-Range Hunter 4.0

The Long-Range Hunter 4.0 is for shooters who live off bipods, tripods, and real field positions. Magnesium chassis, carbon barrel, folding stock—built to ride in a pack, lock into an ARCA rail, and hold steady when the shot breaks.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Alaskan

Alaskan

Built for hunts where the animals bite back. The Alaskan is our controlled-feed hammer for big, mean game in rough country and ugly weather—simple, steady, and trusted when the shot window is measured in seconds.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Wolverine

Wolverine

The Wolverine is our 8.6 Blackout truck gun—compact, tough, and built to live behind the seat. It runs our SMR F-22R action (stainless steel or titanium), an SMR carbon barrel, and an XLR 4.0 folding chassis so it stores short, handles fast, and stays steady when it matters. Built to run suppressed—especially with our Hunter-Series Sub-Hunter.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Night Stalker

Nightstalker

The Nightstalker is built for predators and low light. It’s made to carry a can, a big optic, and serious rail space—staying rock-steady on tripods and bags while you work in the dark.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Renegade Muzzleloader

Renegade

The Renegade is what happens when a precision rifle shop builds a muzzleloader. It keeps the tradition, adds a 1 MOA standard, and reaches out to 1,000 yards so your muzzleloader tag doesn’t feel like a handicap.

Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. Custom Long-Range Hunting Rifles - Precision Pro Competition Rifle

Precision Pro

The Precision Pro is our heavy chassis gun for serious long-range work. Built for steel, matches, and hard training days, it trades ounces for stability, consistency, and hit after hit at distance.

What Goes Into Every Custom Long-Range Rifle

Custom long-range rifles earn that name because every component is chosen to match how and where you actually hunt, not pulled off a shelf. We start with cartridge selection — matching recoil, trajectory, and barrel life to your typical shot distances — then build out from there: barrel length and twist rate for your bullet of choice, a muzzle brake or suppressor-ready threading if you run one, a chassis or stock that fits your body and shooting position, and optics mounted and leveled to our zero standards before it ever leaves the shop. Because our gunsmiths hunt the same country you do, we know the difference between a rifle that shoots well on paper and one that holds up on a ridge in bad weather with your pack straps digging into your shoulders. That’s the standard our custom long-range rifles are held to before we call a build finished.

Every build starts the same way: you tell us the terrain and game you’re chasing, we translate that into cartridge and component choices, and you get a rifle proven on paper and in the field before it ships. That’s why hunters across Montana and beyond trust Snowy Mountain Rifle Co. for custom long-range rifles built to hold zero through weather, altitude, and hard use — not just at the bench, but on the mountain when it counts.
